Jackshit : Ninety miles south of Bakersfield is a small town called Cochtotan. It’s no different than any other small town; people worry about their jobs, send their kids to school and occasionally marry their cousins. On the weekends, they want to put their troubles behind them and cut loose with a couple of long necked bottles of amber intoxicant. But Cochtotan's luckier than a lot of cities in that regard, as three of their native sons have been providing the townsfolk with the kind of good rockin’ soundtrack that has them humming long after they’ve left the bar and are being put into protective custody. This powerful trio of string bendin’, skin poundin’ musicians have spent years polishing their chops playing six sets a night at the Tufted Nighthatch Tavern and Bird Sanctuary. And now, finally, they are ready to share their secret with the world. That’s right, folks, the pride of Cochtotan is ready to spread its high test hillybilly gospel from coast to coast. Get ready, America. Get ready for Jackshit. JACKSHIT IS: Val McCallum: Currently a member of Jackson Browne's band, Val has also toured or recorded with such notables as Lucinda Williams, Shelby Lynne, Willie Nelson, Bonnie Raitt, Sheryl Crow, Natalie Merchant, Seal, The Wallflowers, Joan Osborne, Ron Sexsmith and many more. Davey Faragher: Davey has been the bassist for Elvis Costello's backing band The Imposters since 2001. Prior to his association with Costello, Faragher was probably best known as a member of the band Cracker in the early 1990s. Davey has worked much of his career as a session musician, recording with such notables as Dusty Springfield, David Crosby, Olivia Newton-John, The Monkees, John Hiatt, Sheryl Crow, Suzanna Hoffs, Joan Osborne, John Phillips, Bonnie Raitt, Allen Toussaint, Elvis Costello and Buddy Guy. Pete Thomas: Pete joined Elvis Costello, forming The Attractions in 1977. Pete has worked as a session musician with, among others, Badly Drawn Boy, Tracy Bonham, Jonatha Brooke, Johnny Cash, The Corrs, Sheryl Crow, The Dream Academy, Neil Finn, John Wesley Harding, Joe Jackson, Los Lobos, Joan Osborne, Pearl Jam, Bonnie Raitte, Ron Sexsmith, Squeeze, Richard Thompson, Rufus Wainwright, and The Waterboys. In 2003 Thomas was inducted into the prestigious Rock and Roll Hall of Fame at a ceremony in New York.
