The Guardians: The mission of The Guardians of the Los Angeles Jewish Home for the Aging is to provide financial support for elderly and needy members of the Los Angeles Jewish community who are served by the Los Angeles Jewish Home, through residential and community-based programs. On May 16, 1938 a group of Angelinos gathered to form what is now known as The Guardians of the Los Angeles Jewish Home for the Aging. We are the largest support group of its kind in the United States and are primarily a volunteer-driven organization. The Guardians of the Los Angeles Jewish Home is one of the preeminent charitable endeavors in Los Angeles.
SUZANNE MORTIMER-CRAWFORD: In 1996, Suzanne Crawford had a notion to contact all of the employees at her hospital and asked who would be interested in forming a band. After 17 people responded and after 5 were selected, Gurney was born. It was a classic rock tribute band that played everything from AC/DC to Journey to ZZTop! As the years went by, one of the founding members wanted to start another project. The band had many working names, but the one that stuck was “The Revolving Doors”, based on the fact that many of the members have come and gone, only to return again for the love of music and the project. Music has always been an intrical part of Suzanne’s life, since she was in her first band in 1994, called Numa. The band has played everywhere from weddings to the Troubadour. Numa was all original music written by Suzanne. Some of those songs are played by The Revolving Doors today, as well as cover songs from bands like the Doobie Brothers and Led Zepplin. The band recently started including material from today’s artists, such as Adele. The Revolving Doors prides itself in entertaining those for charitable causes, such as Relay for Life and the Moose Lodge. The band is comprised of Suzanne on vocals and bass, Lance on guitar, Howard on lead guitar, Jacob on keyboard, Chris on percussion, Bruce on drums, and Christian on bass. This project is more than a band, it’s a group of friends who enjoy playing great music and entertaining the masses with this awesome genre of rock.
Jude : Jude was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan and currently lives in Los Angeles.
