La Mer: La Mer is a singer, songwriter, and performer born and raised in the City of Angels. She grew up in the theater, became a world traveler at a very young age, and spent hours in the dark filling diaries with secret songs and deep sea mysteries that would later determine her fate. She spent time living in Spain and then moved to NYC where she appeared in off-Broadway plays, performed in local venues, and rocked underground parties in warehouses, hidden elevator shafts and indie theaters across Brooklyn and Manhattan. She then joined as lead vocalist for New Orleans based key and drum duo ‘The Mumbles’, releasing 2 EP’s and touring the United States. After 2 years of life on the road, losing a friend in a horrible accident, setting a bonfire to who she though she was, and falling in love, La Mer moved to the top floor of a brownstone in the jungles of Bedsuy Brooklyn to study the masters of songwriting, find her voice and write a record. Tired of being a fish out of water, La Mer recently moved home to the Golden State and is currently collaborating with Grammy Award winning producer and engineer Andy Kravitz, embracing the waves, playing choice venues around LA, and enjoying life as a gritty hula girl in Venice Beach California.
Cae and the Embrace: She has sung alongside Austalian folk artist Jeff Lang and Blue Note up and coming world artist of the year Zahra Hindi. Now, CAE (pronounced Kay) wants to make music that provokes the mind and feeds the soul. Drawing on a variety of influences, ranging from the literary works of Toni Morrison and Léonora Miano as well as her personal struggles, this up-and- coming Franco-Haitian singer-songwriter is winning over audiences and earning rave reviews on the Paris music scene. Everything is twofold in this up and comming French-Haïtian singer- songwriter.” Says Cameroonian author Léonora Miano “Between literature and music, between French and English. She is both bicultrual and métisse, a lyricist, and a composer, a singer and a musician. With such a background, the harmonious mixture of influences to be found in her music where soul, folk, jazz and World music converge, is only natural." Cae honed her skills as a jazz performer at the Paris Conservatory and at the renowned Berklee College of Music in Boston, where she was awarded a prestigious Fulbright scholarship as Well as a Berklee College of Music scholarship.
