Formed in Pasadena, California by singer-songwriter Melissa Malavasi; This girl , originally from Costa Rica ,talked with drummer Carlos Gutierrez and they decided to start a music project. This band was originally formed last December of 2010,but their bad ass bass player, Morgan Ober, a girl from Idaho and Cameron Meadows, an amazing guitar player, became part of the band at the end of April 2011. “The music chemistry just felt right and we were ready to work and make some real music happen” says Melissa (a.k.a Mels),singer and keyboard player. Portraits sound is a combination of a Cactus, Rock & Roll and Electronic Vintage effects that create the mood, groove and energy of each song. Making each one something unique. The hooks and raw energy delivered by the band is something you will eat with every show. “We have similar musical tastes so we understand how the music comes and flows with each new song we write” says Mels.
