Bella Bazarria: Step right up and get ready to rawk! Bringing the side show of our lives to the main stage, Indie rockers Bella Bazarria have made their lucky mark with '13'. BB is group of diverse and accomplished friends who have made music that is emotionally charged with their deep personal experiences. Fronted by the enrapturing Cherish Alexander who has several studio albums under her belt including a deal with RCA/BMG, and publishing contract with Warner/Chappell. She toured nationally and released three albums with her rock band The Painkillers. Collaboration is a big part of her artistic life, in addition to songwritting with people like Billy Steinberg (Madonna, Pretenders) and John Shanks (Stevie Nicks, Alanis Morissette) she has played lead guitar for Cyndi Lauper and has written songs for TV and film soundtracks including 'The Crow'. On lead guitar is Chris Dane Owens who is taking a break from his solo career to join Cherish and the guys on lead guitar, as well as to direct the FIX video for Bella. His own popular fantasy music video "Shine On Me" was dubbed the "Best Music Video of the Year" by New Yorker Magazine, and the Los Angeles Times proclaimed: "An Internet star is born". The video is currently on TV in France, Australia, Canada, and the US, as well as all over the internet. Rocking to the right on the keys and guitar is John Cox, a true multi-instrumentalist who has worked in almost every aspect of the music biz; from player to producer, and mixer to studio designer. He has collaborated with a wide range of artists and companies including the creative hotbed Elias Arts... JC brings all this musical wealth to shape the Bella sound. On drums is Jano Janosik who has played drums & toured internationally with many bands including stewboss (4 cds), bardo & the violets. Jano also arranged and was co-producer for Bella’s debut CD 13. He currently has played drums on the new Brian Seymour CD due out end of the year. This isn't the house of smoke and mirrors, these artists have forged pieces that are real and true to themselves. The group, who formed while Alexander toured a solo effort, lay bare the circus of our unexamined selves and bring their fans with them on a magically uplifting journey. No gimmicks, just pure talent. In 2012, Bella Bazarria is releasing 6 new singles and a new music video.
Portraits: Taking cues from Led Zeppelin, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Grace Potter & the Nocturnals, Portraits strive to keep their music rockin´ and energetic. Formed in Pasadena, California by singer-songwriter Melissa Malavasi; This girl , originally from Costa Rica ,talked with drummer Carlos Gutierrez and they decided to start a music project. This band was originally formed last December of 2010,but their bad ass bass player, Morgan Ober, a girl from Idaho and Cameron Meadows, an amazing guitar player, became part of the band at the end of April 2011. “The music chemistry just felt right and we were ready to work and make some real music happen” says Melissa (a.k.a Mels),singer and keyboard player. Portraits sound is a combination of a Cactus, Rock & Roll and Electronic Vintage effects that create the mood, groove and energy of each song. Making each one something unique. The hooks and raw energy delivered by the band is something you will eat with every show. “We have similar musical tastes so we understand how the music comes and flows with each new song we write” says Mels. The guys met at music school in Pasadena,California and since then they´ve been on tour through Pasadena and Downtown L.A. Portraits, independently, are about to release their new album with producer Adam Fuller (Queens of the Stone Age, Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers, Crosby Stills & Nash, Dixie Chix, Metallica, ZZ Top, Dennis Wilson, Tokio Hotel, Tegan & Sara, Eye Alaska, Runaways (Joan Jett & The Blackhearts). The group received overwhelmingly positive feedback throughout L.A. music scenes and they´re currently preparing to play in the Pasadena Music Festival June 18th & 19th . Portraits has received feedback from some amazing musicians that are currently on shows like “Dancing with the Stars”. Their 3 Ep songs will be available on itunes by the end of July, so make sure you get them! Come and see it for yourself. This band is currently playing every Thursday night at the coolest bar in town: 72 North, Pasadena Ca, found on South Fair Oaks. Don´t miss this opportunity to rock!
Alex Nester: In an industry saturated with fly-by-night singles, auto-tune madness, and packaged artist-development, Alex refuses to conform and instead brings back the musicians to the art of music-making with her highly anticipated 2nd album, #BurnItDown. This album can only be described as a Hell-hath-no-fury collection of original music chronicling her trials and letdowns with the state of music business today. But the industry is not the only factor surrounding the creation of this musical tour-de-force. Alex’s bout with cancer has helped shape her unique sound filled with messages of love, faith, positivity, and healing while channeling the retro soul artists of the 60’s and 70’s... Which only makes sense as she is currently touring as a backup singer for Tito Jackson (of Jackson 5 fame) and has opened as a solo artist for such acts as Earth Wind & Fire, Chicago, The Rascals, Evelyn “Champagne” King, The Stylistics, and Dave Mason. Her resume already includes 12 albums, countless jingles, and over 25 theatrical productions, as well as working with established musicians such as The Four Tops, The Fifth Dimension, Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons, Desi Arnaz, Jr., Alphonse Mouzon, Brandon Fields, and Eric Marienthal. With her extensive resume and list of world-class musicians surrounding the making of her music, it’s no wonder Alex has been featured as an artist to look out for by The Los Angeles Music Awards, The Hollywood Music in Media Awards, CDBaby.com, Soultracks.com, TheUrbanMusicScene.com, and various publications and soul music radio stations from around the world. As the music industry settles for what's "safe", Alex will continue to push the boundaries of music making. #BurnItDown is a musical testament of loss and hope, failure and triumph. It is a promise to the listeners that her music will never be anything less than sincere and honest. And most importantly, it's 100% Alex Nester groove!
