Meekos & Me: Meekos & Me are an American acoustic indie band comprised of singer, songwriter, and guitarist Joey Colando, classically trained cellist Danny Grab, bassist and producer Joshua Rumer, multi instrumentalist/backup vocalist Dave Bradley and Mia Barcia-Colombo on backup vocals. Their sound draws on several musical genres including folk, Americana, jazz, pop, and rock. Soft unconventional guitar progressions matched by equally unconventional cello licks, mixed in with an array of percussion styles and spacey synthesizers, sets this group apart from the mainstream. Formed in Santa Monica, California in 2009, Meekos & Me is bursting on the scene with superbly crafted musical arrangements and well versed lyrics. Their debut album, "Anxious Little Turtles" will be release June 21th 2011.

The Rugged Nuggets: Emerging from the tight-knit Los Angeles funk/soul community, The Rugged Nuggets are now the newest collective to carry the torch of instrumental music. What started out as a studio side project by Simple Citizens’ guitarist/multi-instrumentalist Judson McDaniel, quickly spawned into a 7-piece live band who’s rugged sound pays homage to classic soul, soul-jazz and afro-funk music. The RN sound is inspired, realized and shaped by the city landscape and culture including the musicians that reside within. Thus giving the Nuggets an alternating cast of LA based players, including members of Breakestra, Simple Citizens, Orgone, Connie Price & the Keystones, Macy Gray, The Rebirth etc.

The Ventriloquists: Hailing from Los Angeles, The Ventriloquists are a collection of musicians that use their unique skills as multi-instrumentalists and songwriters to blend rock, soul, jazz, electronics, and a little bit of everything else into a sound that is wholly their own. They have recently finished work on their second album Bailout! and have been steadily gaining a loyal fan base in LA with their horn-drenched swagger and sound. Always a crowd favorite, The Ventriloquists' crafty lyrics might leave you wondering if you should laugh or lament, but their energetic live sets are sure to make you get down. You may have heard/seen members of the Ventriloquists playing with other artists including Regina Spektor, Mayer Hawthorne, Rilo Kiley, Jimmy Cliff, Lenka, Built To Spill, Big Daddy Kane, Julian Casablancas, Glen Campbell, and Matt Nathanson among others.

The Ten Thousand: In less than a year, The Ten Thousand has gone from an unknown one man bedroom project to a highly-lauded 5 person unit who's only goal is to create an emotional musical experience that is both immediately involving and completely raw. "It's important to all of us", singer Kevin Moultrie says,"that our music is a complete experience whether live or recorded. And that just means it's gotta be honest." With a quickly growing catalog of songs, The Ten Thousand has begun leaving their mark all over Los Angeles with electric live performances and a strong following. Formed by 5 UCLA students brought together from a diverse musical background in the spring of 2011, it didn't take long to realize that the energy and music coming out of the supposed one-time collaboration was something that would last and grow. Their sound owes much to the combination of talents in the quintet. Dylan Robin's rapid fire guitar licks over the explosive percussion provided by Garrett find their counterparts in Nathan and Satoru's cinematic melodies on bass and keys (both Ethnomusicology scholars and the latter also does A Capella arrangements). Tied together with soulful and powerful vocal performances by Kevin and a Dylanesque ear for lyrics, they are able to capture the emotional intensity that drives their sound. The band's music could be described as garage rock gone horribly right, or as one spectator commented, "What would happen if John Legend and the White Stripes decided to cover Beach Boys songs." Either way their songs have a cathartic quality that resonates with their audiences and listeners. With songs that run the gamut from multi-metered intellectual tracks to four-on-the-floor dance songs, slow burn psychedelics to straight-up bangers, The Ten Thousand is a live act to be reckoned with.
