    Simon Moullier

Multi-instrumentalist, composer, and bandleader Simon Moullier has distinguished himself as one of the leading voices on the vibraphone in the jazz world.  Born in Paris, France and having studied classical percussion and drumset extensively throughout his formative years, Simon picked up his first mallets while at a high school summer program at Berklee College of Music.  Quickly becoming recognized for his entirely new approach to the instrument, Moullier went on to complete an undergraduate degree from Berklee. His unique sound conception helped him perform, record and study with many of the acclaimed faculty (including Terri Lyne Carrington, Danilo Perez, Hal Crook, Darren Barrett, Joe Lovano, and John Pattituci).  Simon went on to study at the prestigious Thelonious Monk Institute in Los Angeles, where he has since shared the stage with such jazz luminaries as Herbie Hancock, Wayne Shorter, Miguel Zenon, Jimmy Heath, and Jeff Tain Watts (just to name a few).  Simon is an active touring musician, having performed worldwide at many of the most-respected jazz clubs and festivals, including Dizzy’s Club Coca Cola at Jazz at Lincoln Center in NYC, Sunnyside in Paris and The International Jazz Day Festival in Cuba.  Besides his work as a performer Moullier is an active educator, teaching privately as well as in master-class and lecture settings for students of all ages. He has also spent countless hours in community outreach, from Cuba to Indonesia to Panama.
