Cubensis celebrates the Grateful Dead concert experience. Like the Dead, the band plays a wondrous amalgam of blues, country, jazz, electronic and rock and roll music, all in the space of about three hours on stage. As with all improvisational jambands, every  performance  is an ongoing experiment, and is closely tied to the boundless energy of the fans. All eras of the Dead are represented, plus selections from the Jerry Garcia Band. Cubensis has been acclaimed for giving new life to the Grateful Dead’s material, bringing in new styles, new innovations, and new jam band enthusiasts, while at the same time remaining loyal to the original music and the original fans.

From their earliest days, the Grateful Dead received countless requests for help from community organizations, and became known for their generosity and their numerous benefit concerts. In the fall of 1983, members of the band, with family and friends, established the
REX FOUNDATION — named after Rex Jackson, a Grateful Dead roadie and later road manager until his untimely death in 1976 – as a non-profit charitable organization, allowing the band to proactively support creative endeavors in the arts, sciences, and education.  As the charitable arm of the Grateful Dead, the Rex Foundation aims to help secure a healthy environment, promote individuality in the arts, provide support to critical and necessary social services, assist others less fortunate than ourselves, protect the rights of indigenous people and ensure their cultural survival, build a stronger community, and educate children and adults everywhere.

Song signup sheet for participants will be posted on the Cubensis Facebook page starting Nov 1.
In addition, enjoy a silent auction of Grateful Dead and Cubensis memorabilia and one-of-a-kind collectables (some priceless).
These exciting and highly desirable items with be on display throughout the event for bidding, with proceeds directly benefitting Rex.
Items include rare backstage passes from 1991 tour donated by Cameron Sears (former GDP President),
and various poster art including an authentic Rick Griffin-designed showbill from 1990 Europe tour valued at $500

    Cubensis- Grateful Dead Music Experience

CUBENSIS brings the Grateful Dead concert experience back to life! Drawing from all eras of the Dead, the band performs two sets of Grateful Dead and JGB classics that retain all the spontaneous exploratory jamming for which the bands were renowned. However, the music produced is uniquely Cubensis.

The group has been acclaimed for giving new life to the Grateful Dead’s material, bringing in new styles, new innovations, and new jam band enthusiasts, while at the same time remaining loyal to the original music and the original fans.

Cubensis has been pleased to find their most enthusiastic supporters are those who never got a chance to see the Grateful Dead in person, and wonder what they missed. Seasoned “Deadheads” come out to relive the great shows gone by, and as a result, the band is in great demand.

Cubensis was given specific permission by Jerry Garcia to perform the Dead's music. Garcia's only request was, "Do a good job of it." Ever since, CUBENSIS has promised authenticity with reverance, and delivers pure Grateful Dead-inspired music like it was meant to be heard...re-creating the magic, one show at a time.
