    Immigrants Are Beautiful Tour

"(I Am Another You is) lyrically and sonically one of the best albums of the year" - NPR

Making Movies is an American rock and roll band that entrances audiences with their interweaving of Afro-Latino rhythms and psychedelic rock’n'roll riffs. Armed with their ambitious and politically charged new album, I Am Another You, the band punches out one high-energy song after another with theatrics and improvisation littered throughout. Making Movies’ culture gives way to beautiful dynamic shifts: at times front-man Enrique Chi trades his electric guitar for a folkloric Panamanian mejorana, and the Chaurand brothers hop off drums and percussion to instead supply the rhythmic pulse with dueling zapateados, a traditional dance from Veracruz, Mexico.

Making Movies is kicking off its “Immigrants Are Beautiful Tour”, an anti-shame, anti-racism, anti-trump, pro-have-a-crazy-dance-party tour. The band’s social statement is straightforward enough that they can express it in four words: “We Are All Immigrants.” In supporting that cause, a portion of all proceeds from the album and tour go to the National Immigration Law Center.

Enrique Chi, singer-songwriter in Making Movies describes, “since making the album, the tides have shifted and the underbelly of systematic racism has reared its ugly head. It is no longer time to be silent is time for us to raise our voices.”

Making Movies has shared the stage with Arcade Fire, Thievery Corporation, Cold War Kids, Los Lobos, Ozomatli, Tennis, Sergio Mendoza of Calexico, Rodrigo y Gabriela, and Hurray for the Riff Ra

  • El Sonido Callejero

    El Sonido Callejero

The band's roots date back to September 2010, when Arturo "El Director" Hernandez (accordion / keyboards / vocals) conceived the idea of creating a totally energetic and danceable musical project.
As musicians of diverse latin roots and Mexican culture, el Sonido Callejero has released one album self titled "El Sonido Callejero" (2011), two E.P's titled "La Fuerza Humana" (2013) and "Radio Ambiente" (2017), six singles "Quizas" (2014), "Sera Un Buen Final" (2014), "Vamos" (2014), "No te puedo olvidar" (2013), "La Fuerza Humana" (2012) and "Oye Mami" (2011) which are available on-line, while one of their song titles ( El Monstruo ) from their first record has been released in Europe under "Ubersee Records". El Sonido Callejero is currently working on their promotion for "Radio Ambiente" (2017).
The band is charged with latin rhythms, while rock, cumbia, norteñas and reggae influences, among others, flow through their veins and can be heard in their songs.

Its catchy rhythms and interesting combinations continue to grow and develop at the heart of their sound. Presently E.S.C continues to be lead by Arturo " El Director" Hernandez on vocals and accordion. Members include the latin flavor rhythms of Ozzie "El Matador" Garcia on percussions, the high energy bass of Edgardo "Ed" Velasquez accompanied with the rhythmic, hard hitting James Ramirez on drums.
