  • Imericjones

    Imericjones

Twenty-eight year-old rapper/songwriter, Jones, grew up in a musical family just outside of Los Angeles in Panorama City. At the age of seven he followed in his grandfather’s footsteps and learned to play the piano. He performed in various recitals and home performances often reciting the lyrics from his favorite artists for family and friends. Though he loved to perform the works of his musical idols he always felt he had words of his own he wanted to share with the world. Jones has spent the past three years pursuing a degree in journalism and dodging the family pressures to establish a career in what his family considered a “practical” profession before taking a hiatus from school. It was recently that Jones fully realized his passion and masterfully assembled a collection of songs that reveal his musical finesse and presence: Books vs Beats.

  • Girl Named Nino

    Girl Named Nino

Girl Named Nino is Nino Arobelidze's latest project. It is a band, a person and now, an album. Nino Arobelidze's sound combines Soul, Indie-rock, Jazz and World Music, creating a unique musical experience that is being dubbed a must-see by concert-goers.

Nino, being a Tbilisi born Chicago based singer, songwriter and producer moved to the U.S. as a teenager and while attending DePaul University Music School put together her first group, The CrossRoads Project. It was the Strange Brew EP release with The CrossRoads Project that started gaining a loyal fan following for the young artist.

Nino's solo full length release, NOMAD in 2014 established her as an artist to watch among numerous media outlets while her live performances continued to gain momentum with listeners.  "In each of her songs you can hear the underlying of jazz cruising over the cool, subtle beats" wrote Cynthia Crawford (The Chronicle), while Tony Sarabia of WBEZ compared Nino's voice to Billie Holiday's ( WorldView).

Building on her first Girl Named Nino national tour that earned her impressive accolades spanning from L.A. to NYC, Nino returns to The Mint LA, joined by Pablo Gordy on electric guitar and surprise guests (TBA).

  • Sealy Troh

    Sealy Troh

Agreed! There are numerous young artists hoping to make a name in the genre of Hip-Hop. However none convey ideas with the deliberative flow and youthful, emotive angst as presented in the original lyrics of Eric Trotman – working under the pseudonym of “Sealy Troh.” Born to Barbadian working class parents in the suburbs of Southern California’s Antelope Valley, Sealy’s stage name is a combination of his grandfather’s surname, “Sealy” and Eric’s nickname “Troh.”
“I’m influenced by electronic, experimental, indie, hardcore and hip-hop,” Sealy says with a smile as he reminiscences on his former days as a vocalist in punk/hard rock bands. The range of musical styles Sealy Troh indulges in are eclectic. He is a fan of artist such as “He is Legend,” “Kanye West,” “Atmosphere,” “Bibio,” “Marvin Gaye” as well as “Foster the People.”
“Rapping is a do it yourself genre. If your lines or lyrics are weak than that’s on you. I wanted something that made me responsible for who I am – where I could rely on myself to show up.” When watching Troh perform you can feel his fire, you know this is a man with passion
