    Honeypot

Kelly Rhone - Vocals; Dylan Raines - GuitarImhotep Shabazz - Bass; and Jett Vera - Drums
We are Honeypot – www.honeypottheband.com - Coming together by chance and circumstance in September 2015; we are young musicians just trying to bring authenticity to the music world. We play bluesy, funky, soulful and psychedelic rock n' roll.
Kelly draws on greats such as Florence Welch, Alison Mosshart, Alice Smith, Eryka Badu, and Lauryn Hill. She brings a mix of moving soul with jaw breaking rock n' roll. An Iowa native, she has been singing her entire life. From memorizing songs in classic Christmas movies to performing musical theater in her hometown of Mount Vernon, to belting in the car to The Kills or Franz Ferdinand, she brings what most anybody will be able to connect to the most in our music: its voice.

Dylan got started obsessing over guitar greats such as Clapton, Hendrix and SRV and as blues music hit the mainstream with The White Stripes, The Black Keys, and Gary Clark Jr., he knew he had something to offer musically. He hails from a humble suburban home outside of Phoenix, AZ and after abandoning his pursuit for a professional golf career, he moved to Hollywood to find likeminded musicians that were as passionate about music as he was. He found them.

Imhotep is an Angelino, born and raised. Growing up in the neighborhoods of South Central, 'Hotep learned how to play bass from family and also Jett's (our drummer) father. His sultry and thumping licks are inspired by greats such as Lauryn Hill, Erykah Badu, Kendrick Lamar, Wu-Tang Clan and much more. He plays completely by ear and is a true musical savant, often creating beautiful melodic bass lines from seemingly thing air.

Jett is our ferocious drummer hailing from the storied San Fernando Valley. Growing up listening to anything from Jack White, Franz Ferdinand and Wolfmother to progressive and hardcore rock greats like Circa Survive and Mars Volta, he has unrivaled intensity while maintaining an artistic touch. Jett is our rock and always one step ahead. Jett and Hotep have been best friends since they were in elementary school and been playing music together since. Between talent and an intangible connection, they create the best rhythm section anyone could ask for.

  • Jim from the Moon

    Jim from the Moon

At times Jim from the Moon plays acoustic tunes about girls, the devil, and similar distractions. They flow in the vein of Loudon Wainwright III and Neil Young, sung with a voice soaked in years of Irish storytelling. Other times he expels far-out electric rock that is primal and space-ward, with heavy, psychedelic sounds. Both sides are focused, catchy, and ready to be eaten by your ears.

Jim From The Moon picked up his guitar and moved out West to the cool breeze and palm trees of Hollywood, California. Over the past year he has put together a powerhouse band of rock and roll destineers chomping at the bit to be seen, heard, and devoured. Their first release is the explosive "Beauty Queens in Skinny Jeans" which sees Jim and company tearing through time with astral guitars and drums like machine guns.

Jim From The Moon has spent this past winter (though you can hardly call it winter with all this sun) recording the follow-up to 2012's psychelectric "Space, Flesh & Woe", which prompted such claims as "you can't get much more original than Jim From The Moon" and "(Space, Flesh & Woe) stretches the boundaries of psychedelic rock." His new EP "Pretty Dope" boasts the same desire to distort and mold the spectrum of rock and roll as he sees fit. This time around, Jim is flanked by the soon-to-be world famous Pat Moley on guitar, who grooves through every tune with focused abandon, and Geoff Haba who puts the world in check with peerless drumming, which births this truth…there's a new band in town, ya heard? and you better shape up…it's Jim From The Moon.

2015 will see Jim From The Moon playing shows all around Los Angeles, so keep an eye out!
