  • Town In The City

    Town In The City

TOWN IN THE CITY is an psychedelic folk rock band from Los Angeles, California. Their music has its roots in harmony-driven folk rock, while simultaneously incorporating psychedelic grooves, experimental recording techniques, and an exhilarating live show.

Built around the classic California sound of the 60s and 70s, they has evolved into a modern band centered around a genuine roots based vibe, evoked in their newest EP release, “Safe + Sound.”

With a growing repertoire, the band has developed an exciting, high energy live show that pulls out all the stops.  What makes the band so enjoyable to watch is their spontaneity on stage, and their ability to show the sincere fun they have during their set.

TOWN IN THE CITY represents an organic type of music that appeals to those who long for a raw, veritable spirit in what they listen to.  The band is currently recording its first full length album and will be debuting some rip roaring new tracks later this summer!

  • Marley Munroe

    Marley Munroe

Marley Munroe announces herself as a force to be reckoned with each time she steps on stage. Whether on the main stage at the 2014 LA Pride Festival, or popular music venues such as New York City's Rockwood Music Hall or Los Angeles' Hotel Cafe – Marley’s voice is all at once powerfully dynamic, penetratingly sultry and gently vulnerable. The moment her song begins, you can't take your eyes off of her. With her colossal vocal talent and outsized charisma - along with her natural songwriting ability, Marley transitions easily between contemporary-soulful and edgy alternative songs without sacrificing an ounce of authenticity. She may sound like the second coming of Gladys Knight, but Marley refuses to be pigeonholed as a soul singer. "My sound marries the different parts of who I am. I love bands like MUSE and Coldplay, but I also listen to Billie Holiday and Donny Hathaway. My music brings those loves together. I don't want to be straight-up any one thing because I have so many different influences. I love big, epic, stadium songs. But I don't know how to do pop without the soul." As a BMG/Chrysalis songwriter, Munroe's collaborators include some of the music industry's most prolific writers, including Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis, Justin Gray, Rob Kleiner, Mateo Laboriel, The Monsters, Chris Braide, Trevor Lawrence, London Police, The Heavyweights and Chris Seefried. In May 2014, Anastacia released a much-anticipated comeback album, which features two of Marley's songs: Staring At The Sun & I Don't Want To Be The One. Marley is currently working on an EP that features original material that she is proud to share. She is also scheduling live engagements into 2015.

  • Son Ark

    Son Ark

Son Ark has been filling establishments across Los Angeles with their unmistakably unique brand of folk rock and with lyrics that tell tales of bygone eras and heartbreaking love lost. Son Ark's "unvarnished, heart-on-its-sleeve roots rock sneaks up on you like a speed trap on a two-lane highway" (Buzzbands). Son Ark longingly reminds us of days gone by. The songs are not antiques, though. Influenced by the likes of Andrew Bird, Avett Brothers, the Pixies, and Led Zeppelin, Son Ark tells their tales in a decidedly contemporary way and their live performances will persuade you to "overcome your too-cool-for-folk attitude" (LA Music Blog). In summer 2007, singer Robin Harris, guitarist Sherman Pascoe, and bassist Chris Sousa met by luck or by fate and began playing played at speakeasies, cafe bars, and street corners alike for the next year. Meanwhile, in Boston, banjo player Matt Sousa began hearing of his cousin Chris' escapades and decided to move West and join the band. Pat Butterworth entered the ranks in 2008. Adrian Prohaska joined on mandolin and vocals in 2011, completing the band. From that moment on, Son Ark has made stages such the Echo, the Satellite, and the Bootleg Theater their stomping grounds. In November of 2011, Son Ark released their Much Obliged EP, which is full of "layered harmonies that effortlessly float above bright Americana arrangements" (BuzzbandsLA). That July, Son Ark hit the road and played up and down the west coast from San Diego, CA to Portland, OR. 2012 came to an end with Son Ark's debut music video, Going to the Woods. Son Ark is currently working on their first full-length record, The Land of Smoke, due out in June 2013

  • The Dank

    The Dank

The Dank is a Texas-bred bass/guitar and keyboard duo comprised of David Monnich and Jimi Morales. Taking the stage as their alter egos "Cilantro" and "Reeferman," The Dank creates a 420 friendly experience which combines a variety of influences including Blues, Outlaw Country, Jazz, Norteño, Rock and Salsa. The Dank regularly features guest musicians from many genres all united by the universal powers of rhythm, love, and la yerba buena.

  • Kawasi

    Kawasi

At the age of 26 recording artist and actor Kawasi Weston pronounced Kway-si does more than tell stories through his lyric's, he motivates and inspires. These actions have propelled his career to a level of unparalleled success. Born and raised in Albany, Georgia Kawasi Weston was a victim of child abandonment but being alone was a temporary state of being for this gallant child. Six months into his life his grandmother R. Weston found him and took him in as her own and raised him. When he turned 15, he had the opportunity to meet his birth parents, but the encounter would only send Kawasi into a spiraling state of confusion and distaste but music and the love of his grandmother saved him.

"When I was in middle school, I failed the sixth grade. I came home from school and I was so scared, but my grandmother called me over and said 'If you wanna be a failure in life you do that. If you want to be successful in life be that. Now go outside and play." said Kawasi

This moment is where Kawasi said he learned the true meaning of love. Ms. Weston, is a big part of the success of this rising star and even motivated him to take a second look at the life he was living and re-evaluate.

Some may assume that working and traveling with the Hilary Clinton camp is a dream job, but for Kawasi it wasn't enough. So he left behind a career in the world of politics to pursue his dreams. Those dreams took him all the way to Los Angeles. Now that Kawasi is in the land of dreams he is working harder on his music and perfecting his screen play. Kawasi has already been recognized by his Los Angelonies as the number one alternative pop artist on the powerhouse music site Reverbnation. Some of his lyrics caught the attention of Audi car company, which even shocked Kawasi.

This humbled artist is up next. There is so much that Kawasi has in store for us to keep our eyes and ears open for. Be on the look out for the fashion trends Kawasi looks to set, the music he wants you to enjoy and the movies you'll keep on repeat, because hey you can do that when its your world, so welcome to KawasiWorld!
