  • Spafford

    Spafford

Spafford is an eclectic blend of driving rock, blues, funk, dance, and light. The result is something like Electro-Funk Therapy. Melting through genres while creating an illuminated mind-and-mood altering experience night after night, Spafford is lighting up the southwest and beyond with their improvisational prowess. They are paving the way for something new, yet familiar, that beckons to be seen, heard and felt.

Since their first performance on New Years Eve of 2009, Spafford has built a following around the addictive live shows they put on. They have become a featured act for Vegas late-night spots, such as the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino and The Palms, and the band has hosted many of the official after-parties for Further and Widespread Panic. When Spafford isn't playing notable festivals such as McDowell Mountain Music Festival, The Gem & Jam, Firefly Gathering and Serenity Gathering, they're off on the road touring the South-West where they've shared the stage with bands such as Particle, Eoto, Tea Leaf Green, Howlin' Rain, The Motet, Toubab Krewe and many more as they continue to expand and extend their route to bring their experience to new places. 2014 brings the release of a long-awaited live CD with tracks collected over 2 years of shows, as well as extended tours and a slew of new material.

Connecting with fans is always the primary focus of all of Spafford's endeavors, and the boys understand the importance of embracing those who enjoy and connect with their music.  A fan was recently quoted saying “Spafford is what this world needs...a combination of all genres to connect all walks of life.” Wether stopping to enjoy fresh local food, or making connections with new faces in new cities, Spafford continues to push forward with their goal of changing lives, one show at a time. The current collaboration that is Spafford consists of: Andrew “Red” Johnson (Keys), Nick Tkachyck (Drums), Jordan Fairless (Bass), Brian Moss (Guitar).

  • Shaky Feelin

    Shaky Feelin

Emerging from Ventura County’s fertile music scene, this powerhouse of a quintet is most noticeable for their eye-catching groove-based double drum sound and shredding guitar solos. Shaky Feelin’ is a Southern California jam band mixing the elements of high-energy rock, reggae, bluegrass and funk to create the most memorable live show you’ve yet to see! They draw inspiration from bands like Phish, the Grateful Dead, Allman Brothers, the Disco Biscuits, Tea Leaf Green and The Beatles. With no fear of improvisational experimentation on stage, true communication and strong musicianship this band has the ability to create a lasting impression. Shaky Feelin’ shows lend a positive high-energy journey which quickly gets their fans into the groove! You’ll be sure to leave their shows with that… Shaky Feelin’!

  • TAUK

    TAUK

On their third studio album Sir Nebula, TAUK tap into their singular chemistry to elevate and expand their all-instrumental blend of funk, hip-hop, progressive rock, and jazz. Revealing both their refined musicality and unbridled creativity, the Oyster Bay, New York-bred rock-fusion four-piece (guitarist Matt Jalbert, bassist Charlie Dolan, keyboardist/organist Alric “A.C.” Carter, and drummer Isaac Teel) push into new sonic terrain and build entire worlds within each richly textured soundscape.

From the hazy atmospherics of “Time’s Up” and soaring riffs of “Program Select” to the urgent rhythms of “Shenanigans” and sprawling melodies of “Where You Are,” Sir Nebula finds TAUK introducing a cosmically inspired element to their music. “The album ended up taking on a more ambient kind of vibe than anything we’ve done before—there’s a spaciness in the songs that lets you get lost in the sound,” says Dolan. And while the album is endlessly hypnotic, TAUK also deliver the dynamic tension-and-release jams that have helped earn them a devoted following while drawing critical acclaim (the Washington Post, for one, praised TAUK for “creating a hard-charging, often melodic fusion that—thanks to a penchant for improv—offers limitless possibilities”).

As with their past four releases, TAUK created Sir Nebula in collaboration with Grammy Award-winning producer/mixer/engineer Robert Carranza (The Mars Volta, Ozomatli, Jack Johnson, Taj Mahal). But in a departure from their previous work, the band made the album in one concentrated period rather than spacing the recording sessions out in between tours. Holing up at the Solar Powered Plastic Plant in Los Angeles, often pulling 12-hour workdays, TAUK ultimately found the revamped recording process hugely beneficial. “Everything just happened so naturally this time around,” says Jalbert. “I can’t think of one moment where it felt like anything was forced. We were all just completely focused and in the same mindset, which made it this incredibly fun and smooth experience.”
