  • Doe Eye

    Doe Eye

DOE EYE is the recording project of singer-multi-instrumentalist, Maryam Qudus. Her debut full-length record T E L E V I S I O N was released on April 2014, recorded at Tiny Telephone in San Francisco with producer John Vanderslice, (Spoon, The Mountain Goats, Nada Surf). T E L E V I S I O N follows the success of two EPs and her 2011 stand-out single, “I Hate You.” T E L E V I S I O N lays bare in a blend of grunge and soul, opting for dreamy vintage synthesizers instead of the whimsical strings heard in earlier songs. Built around themes of heartbreak, loneliness, love, and death, T E L E V I S I O N displays how DOE EYE has grown bold with her expression and willingness to reopen old wounds. The entire album was recorded to two-inch tape at Vanderslice’s Tiny Telephone Studios, adding a warmth and richness to Qudus’s raw honesty and imperfect character. Distorted static and crumpled, broken sounds run rampant behind Qudus's compelling voice. T E L E V I S I O N is an analog document of how easy it is to fall into a static state when life gets overwhelming. It’s much easier to simply turn on the television. DOE EYE has been garnering attention and gaining speed since 2011, when she dropped out of the Berklee College of Music to fully pursue her solo career. She has been featured in Billboard Magazine, Alternative Press, and Filter Magazine. The singer’s presence is influential both in recording and on stage; DOE EYE has shared the stage with Chromatics,The Breeders and Grouplove. • Smoke Season

    Smoke Season

Smoke Season was formed in early 2013 by Gabrielle Wortman and Jason Rosen. Combining their musical backgrounds, the duo created their own unique take on Americana, infusing folk with electronic undertones and rich vocal harmonies that has been steadily capturing the attention of fans and press since. Smoke Season catapulted into must-know status during their impressive August residency at Los Angeles' acclaimed venue, the Echoplex. Their performances were hailed in the press by LA Weekly ("Music Pick of the week"), Los Angeles Magazine, Buzzbands LA, Radio Free Silver Lake, Free Bike Valet, Grimy Goods & more.

Their sophomore EP, "Hot Coals Cold Souls", released July 29, 2014, has been gaining impressive traction in the press for its powerful mash-up of styles and refinement of their already unique sonic imprint. Described as "pop, rock, electronic, Americana, and folk elements collide in an inspired way" (The Daily Album), the EP "pulls mood-building tricks from country, R&B, dancy indie, chillwave (the intro to “Opaque”) and more" (Independent Clauses). Smoke Season began in 2013 with a self-produced their debut EP, Signals, and self-directed music video for their first single, Soleil. After being released in March 2013, the Signals EP went on to independently sell thousands of copies and garner critical acclaim. Since then, Smoke Season has been steadily touring, showcasing their music around the country and most notably at 2014 Sundance Film Festival, on AXS TV, Bite Size TV, Balcony TV and more.

"Smoke Season takes a cinematic approach to Americana — woozy, dreamy and, yes, smoky. Don’t forget to inhale." - BUZZBANDS LA (May 2013)

    Color You

Color You is a dynamic and excited band based in sunny San Diego, CA. Ben Ross, Jeremy Turner, and Scott McGlathery formed the band in 2011. During the winter of 2010 Ben Ross was preparing for his summer 2011 solo tour. Ben had released a self made EP entitled “What They Say”. Jeremy had been writing music with fellow musician Scott McGlathery, who was also invited to join the summer tour as bassist. After a successful summer tour Jeremy and Scott moved to San Diego to form Color You with Ben. The band was still in need of a drummer so Ben, Scott, and Jeremy posted flyers all around town and began to audition drummers. After auditioning several drummers and still not finding the right person Ben went out to post more flyers. As he was driving around he heard someone playing the drums.
