    Debbie Neigher

Debut Record Available Now for FREE download! Without an apartment or job waiting for her, the then 22-year-old singer-songwriter Debbie Neigher uprooted herself from her native state of New Jersey and flew across the country to San Francisco to pursue her music fully. By day, Neigher began working at a nonprofit organization located in one of the city’s poorest neighborhoods, teaching piano and voice lessons to homeless youth. By night, she started to gig as a solo artist at renowned venues such as Yoshi’s Jazz Club. After deciding to use these experiences as creative fodder for her first record, she went on a routine tour of indie haven Tiny Telephone Recording Studio, owned by pop-folk artist and producer John Vanderslice (Spoon, The Mountain Goats, Samantha Crain). Two days after they met, Vanderslice reached out to say that although he hadn't produced records for years, he would love to be involved on the Neigher project. After an intensive eleven days in the studio collaborating with the Magik*Magik Orchestra (Death Cab for Cutie, The Walkmen), she hand delivered the finished reels of tape to Los Angeles where it was mastered. Since its release in July 2011, Neigher’s self-titled debut has been featured on AOL Spinner, Under the Radar, and the San Francisco Chronicle hails it as “…a lush, beautifully scored album on par with those of her personal icons Regina Spektor and Fiona Apple." She has graced the stages of venerable San Francisco venues such as The Great American Music Hall and the Independent, striving to redefine how the piano is used in modern indie and pop music, combining violent and meticulous parts with her sugary voice and swells of lap steel, sax, violin, drums, and bass. She is also currently the touring pianist/singer for Ezra Furman, DOE EYE, Sam Chase, and Split Screens. In January 2013 she teamed up with Vanderslice and Magik*Magik once again to record her next full-length album, due out later this year.

    Hotel Cinema

Los Angeles based project Hotel Cinema was formed in 2012 by Mark Hadley & Keeley Bumford. The two became friends during their college years in Boston and became more than friends after they both separately moved to LA. They started writing songs with the sole intention of exploring original production without any preconceived notions or expectations, and eventually had enough material to release their self titled debut EP in January of 2013. With alluring melodies and intricate orchestration of electronic and organic elements, Hotel Cinema has crafted a unique cinematic sound that weaves in and out of reality. Making their KCRW debut only 3 days after the release, the EP has put Hotel Cinema on the radar as an emerging artist to keep an eye on in 2013.
